The 2010 Leadership Institute Immersion Training took place March 8 - 12 in Kansas City, Missouri. Twelve proteges and mentors were chosen from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma to participate in the 2010 Leadership Institute and are now working in their protege/mentor teams on development of leadership skills identified during the Immersion Training. Each protege is also working on a Leadership Project which serves as a "lab" for intentional development. Mid-America ATTC is happy to welcome Nancy Rosenshine back to Kansas City for a Booster Session which will take place July 16. Congratulations to all participants a they take this opportunity to work on personal and leadership development with the support of a mentor over these next few months.
The primary goal of the Leadership Institute is to cultivate mid-management leaders within the addiction field through the enhancement of knowledge and development of leadership competencies. The Institute lays a foundation for developing leadership and management skills. This program is an exceptional opportunity to further develop clinical supervisors and other mid-level management staff who are already leaders in your agency. Funding for this program is provided by funds from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), CSAT's Partners for Recovery (PFR) and CSAT's ATTC Network. This 6-8 month includes an online assessment of the participant's leadership skills, their personality type and their mode of dealing with conflict. Participants will travel to Kansas City for a 5-day Immersion Training March 8-12, 2010, where they will be assigned a mentor who will work with them individually to develop identified leadership skills. A Booster Session will be held in July with Commencement in September.
